Early diagnosis and appropriate treatment are vital for improving prognosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Types of Stomach Cancer:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Adenocarcinoma:<\/strong> The most common type of stomach cancer, originating from the epithelial cells of the mucosa. It accounts for about 90% of gastric cancers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 <\/strong><strong>Lymphomas<\/strong>: These cancers arise from immune system cells in the stomach lining. Gastric lymphomas are rare but significant due to their distinct management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>\u2022 Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST):<\/strong> These tumors originate from stromal cells in the gastrointestinal system and can be either benign or malignant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Neuroendocrine Tumors:<\/strong> These tumors originate from the neuroendocrine cells in the stomach and can vary in behavior, ranging from slow-growing to more aggressive tumors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Causes and Risk Factors:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Factors that increase the risk of stomach cancer include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Infection with Helicobacter pylori.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;\u2022 Genetic predisposition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;\u2022 Diet high in salted and smoked foods.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;\u2022 Smoking and alcohol use.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\u2022 Chronic gastric inflammation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Symptoms:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Symptoms vary depending on the type and stage of the tumor and may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Pain in the upper abdomen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Loss of appetite and unexplained weight loss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u2022 Nausea, vomiting, and a feeling of fullness after small meals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Anemia due to bleeding from the tumor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Diagnosis:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diagnosis is made through gastroscopy with biopsy, which histologically confirms the type of tumor.
