It can be acute (sudden) or chronic (long-term). Symptoms include pain or a burning sensation in the stomach area, nausea, vomiting, bloating, and loss of appetite. <\/p>\n\n<p>Causes of gastritis may include:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Chronic use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Infection with Helicobacter pylori <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alcohol consumption  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stress  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Autoimmune diseases  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Smoking  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Caffeine  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>Treatment includes antacids or medications that reduce acid production in the stomach. Avoiding alcohol, quitting smoking, and proper diet also play an important role.
